The invention relates to a pipe, a vehicle using the pipe and a method of manufacturing the pipe. The duct includes an exoskeleton structure and a sound absorbing structure disposed within the exoskeleton structure and conforming to the exoskeleton structure. The exoskeleton structure provides external mechanical support for the sound absorbing structure, thereby helping maintain the tubular shape of the sound absorbing structure. The external support does not interfere with the air flow in the sound absorption structure. In addition, external positioning of the exoskeleton structure allows for integration of various support mounting features for mounting the pipe in the vehicle. In some examples, the exoskeleton structure includes a plurality of closed openings to reduce the weight of the exoskeleton structure and provide additional flexibility. In addition, additive manufacturing of exoskeleton structures allows for the achievement of unitary structures having the various features and characteristics described above.
