To provide a core metal and a steering wheel having the same, capable of stably deforming a lower spoke core metal part upon occurrence of an input of an excessive external force from the front side.SOLUTION: A core metal 18 includes: a boss core metal part 24; a rim core metal part 25 positioned around the boss core metal part 24; and a spoke core metal part 26 connecting the boss core metal part 24 with the rim core metal part 25. The spoke core metal part 26 has a lower spoke core metal part 32. The lower spoke core metal part 32 includes a first connection part 35 connected with the lower side of the boss core metal part 24 and extending to the rim core metal part 25. The lower spoke core metal part 32 includes a second connection part 36 connected with the lower side of the rim core metal part 25 and extending to the boss core metal part 24 side while curving to the non-occupant side in an arch shape. The lower spoke core metal part 32 includes a deformed base point part 37 which is positioned between the first connection part 35 and the second connection part 36 and becomes weaker than the first connection part 35 and the second connection part 36.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】正面側からの過大な外力の入力に対し、下部スポーク芯金部を安定的に変形させることが可能な芯金及びこれを備えたステアリングホイールを提供する。【解決手段】芯金18は、ボス芯金部24と、ボス芯金部24の周辺に位置するリム芯金部25と、ボス芯金部24とリム芯金部25とを連結するスポーク芯金部26とを備える。スポーク芯金部26は、下部スポーク芯金部32を有する。下部スポーク芯金部32は、ボス芯金部24の下部側と接続されてリム芯金部25側に延びる第一接続部35を備える。下部スポーク芯金部32は、リム芯金部25の下部側と接続されて反乗員側にアーチ状に湾曲しつつボス芯金部24側に延びる第二接続部36を備える。下部スポーク芯金部32は、第一接続部35と第二接続部36との間に位置して第一接続部35及び第二接続部36よりも弱部となる変形基点部37を備える。【選択図】図1
