To reduce the possibility that travel behaviour of a vehicle from becoming unstable by being affected by abnormal travel behaviour of a preceding vehicle caused by the fact that a driver in the preceding vehicle falls into an abnormal condition, during followup inter-vehicle distance control and followup steering control of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A driving support ECU provided in a vehicle executes followup inter-vehicle distance control and followup steering control using information on a preceding vehicle. The driving support ECU, when an inter-vehicle communication device provided in the vehicle receives information on occurrence of an abnormality of a driver transmitted from an inter-vehicle communication device provided in the preceding vehicle, prohibits acceleration of the vehicle by the followup inter-vehicle distance control or restricts acceleration of the vehicle by the followup inter-vehicle distance control, in the case of executing the followup inter-vehicle distance control, and prohibits execution of the followup steering control in the case of executing the steering followup control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車両の追従車間距離制御及び追従操舵制御時に、先行車の運転者が異常状態に陥ったことに起因する先行車の異常な走行挙動の影響を受けて、車両の走行挙動が不安定になる可能性を低減する。【解決手段】車両が備える運転支援ECUは、先行車の情報を用いて、追従車間距離制御及び操舵追従制御を実行する。運転支援ECUは、先行車が備える車車間通信装置から送信される運転者異常発生情報を車両が備える車車間通信装置が受信した場合において、追従車間距離制御を実行している場合、追従車間距離制御による車両の加速を禁止するか、或いは、追従車間距離制御による車両の加速を制限し、操舵追従制御を実行している場合、操舵追従制御の実行を禁止するように構成される。【選択図】図1
