To provide an electric power conversion apparatus for railway vehicle capable of suppressing a heat radiation fin from deforming when foreign matter collides while suppressing the heat radiation fin from decreasing in cooling performance.SOLUTION: An electric power conversion apparatus 100 for railway vehicle comprises an electric power conversion apparatus body 30 and a heat radiation fin 62, which includes an inclined part 62d including a first inclined surface provided at a travel-directional front end part 62c and linearly inclined to extend from the side of a root part 62a of the heat radiation fin 62 to the side of a front end part 62b of the heat radiation fin 62, and an end part 62e linearly extending along a projecting direction of the heat radiation fin 62, the first angle formed by a direction along the second inclined surface of an air intake part 11c including a second inclined surface as a direction, arranged in front of the heat radiation fin 62 in the travel direction, in which a foreign body T flies to reach and a normal direction of the first inclined surface of the inclined part 62d being larger than the second angle formed by a direction along the second inclined surface and a normal direction of a plane of the end part 62e.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
