To provide a vehicle operation support technique of reliably imaging an obstacle in the periphery of an own vehicle so as to transmit the information to a crewman.SOLUTION: A vehicle operation support device 10 includes: an imaging section 20 for imaging a rear side of an own vehicle 1; multiple sensors 30 for measuring a distance from an obstacle on a rear side of the own vehicle 1; a drive section 40 as an adjustment section for adjusting an imaging range of the imaging section 20; an electronic control unit 60 as a control section for starting the imaging section 20 in response to a backward operation of a shift lever 6, and controlling the drive section 40 so as to allow a detection area of an object sensor where a measurement value of a distance from an obstacle is the minimum value among the multiple sensors 30 to be within an imaging range of the imaging section 20; and a monitor 50 as an information transmission section for transmitting obstacle information related to an obstacle to a crewman based on image information to be output when the imaging section 20 images a detection area of the object sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
