To provide an object position detector with which it is possible to detect an object with good accuracy irrespective of a view angle position and distance of the object.SOLUTION: The object position detector comprises: a first distance detection unit 105 for detecting the distance to an object from images obtained from first and second imaging units 101 and 102; a first position detection unit 106 for detecting the position of the object on the basis of the distance detected by the first distance detection unit; a processing region setting unit 107 for setting, within the image obtained from one of the plurality of imaging units including the first and second imaging units, a processing region that includes the object detected by the first distance detection unit; a second position detection unit 109 for detecting the position of the object within the processing region; a second distance detection unit 110 for detecting the distance to the object on the basis of the position of the object detected by the second position detection unit; a posture detection unit 111 for detecting the posture of the object on the basis of the position of the object detected by the second position detection unit; and a determination unit 112 for determining the distance and position of the object in accordance with information detected by the first and second distance detection units, the first and second position detection units and the posture detection unit, respectively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
