To detect a position of a railway vehicle with desired accuracy without complicating facilities for detecting the position of the railway vehicle.SOLUTION: The railway traveling position detection device mounted on a railway vehicle includes: a reception azimuth angle setting unit for setting a reception azimuth angle on the basis of a traveling direction of the railway vehicle and a reception state of a positioning signal from an artificial satellite; a satellite selection unit for selecting an artificial satellite of a positioning target within a range of the set reception azimuth angle; a satellite positioning unit for receiving a positioning signal from a selected artificial satellite and detecting a position of the railway vehicle; an autonomous positioning unit for detecting the position of the railway vehicle on the basis of output of an autonomous positioning sensor; and a switching determination unit that determines the position of the railway vehicle detected by the satellite positioning unit as a detected position when the detection accuracy in the satellite positioning unit is equal to or larger than the predetermined detection accuracy and determines the position of the railway vehicle detected by the autonomous positioning unit as a detected position when the detection accuracy is less than the predetermined detection accuracy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】鉄道車両の位置検出を行うための設備を複雑化することなく、所望の精度で鉄道車両の位置を検知する。【解決手段】実施形態の鉄道用走行位置検知装置は、鉄道車両に搭載される鉄道用走行位置検知装置であって、鉄道車両の進行方向及び人工衛星からの測位用信号の受信状態に基づいて受信方位角を設定する受信方位角設定部と、設定された受信方位角の範囲内で測位対象の人工衛星を選択する衛星選択部と、選択した事項衛星からの測位用信号を受信し、鉄道車両の位置を検知する衛星測位部と、自立測位用センサの出力に基づいて、鉄道車両の位置を検知する自立測位部と、衛星測位部における検知精度が所定の検知精度以上である場合には衛星測位部が検知した前記鉄道車両の位置を検知位置として判別し、検知精度が所定の検知精度未満となった場合には自立測位部が検知した前記鉄道車両の位置を検知位置として判別する切替判別部と、を備える。【選択図】図2
