To provide a system capable of performing underwater surveying over wide areas, such as seas, at low cost in a short time.SOLUTION: The system comprises: a plurality of buoys; a plurality of underwater mobile bodies; and a sky-hoverable wireless relay device wirelessly communicatable with the plurality of buoys. The buoys each include a wired communication unit for communication via an underwater cable and a wireless communication unit for wireless communication with the sky-hoverable wireless relay device. The underwater mobile bodies each include: a drive unit coupled to the buoy via the underwater cable to move underwater under autonomous or external control; a wired communication unit for communication via the underwater cable; and an information acquisition unit for acquiring underwater information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
