To provide a lifting magnet capable of surely holding a workpiece by improving the friction force.SOLUTION: A lifting magnet 10 includes a main iron core 20 with a pair of side surfaces serving as main yoke suction surfaces 21, a coil 40 wound around the main iron core 20, and a movable yoke 80 slidable with respect to the main yoke suction surfaces 21. The main yoke suction surfaces 21 are provided at end parts in the direction of an axial line C of the coil 40 and at least one of the main yoke suction surfaces 21 is formed to be inclined to a direction orthogonal to the axial line C of the coil 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
