To provide a grasping mechanism and a grasping device, which are capable of generation and extinction of a high magnetic flux necessary to control the viscosity of a magnetic fluid while being compact, cause no magnetic flux leakage to the outside, can surely grasp a fragile object and a small object and excel in versatility and practicability.SOLUTION: A grasping mechanism 10 comprises a bag body 11 having flexibility, a magnetic fluid 12 enclosed in the bag body 11, a permanent magnet 13 arranged on one side of the bag body 11, and a rotary driving part 16 that rotates the permanent magnet 13 to increase or decrease the amount of a magnetic flux acting on the magnetic fluid 12. A grasping device 31 comprises a plurality of grasping mechanisms 10, in which each grasping mechanism 10 is inclined downwardly toward the center side of the plurality of grasping mechanisms 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
