To provide a marine diesel engine which appropriately cools combustion gas after compression and can suppress breakage due to drain attack of a compressor of a supercharger.SOLUTION: A marine diesel engine includes an engine main body, a first supercharger which compresses combustion gas, a cooler which cools compression gas as the combustion gas compressed by the first charger, a second supercharger which further compresses compressed gas after cooling by means of the cooler and feeds the gas to the engine main body, a temperature detection part which detects a temperature of the compressed gas after cooling, a pressure detection part which detects a pressure of the compressed gas after cooling, a supply pipe which supplies cooling water for cooling the compressed gas, an adjustment part which adjusts a flow rate of cooling water to the cooler from the supply pipe and a control part. The control part deduces a dew point under a pressure of the compressed gas after cooling based on a pressure detection value and, when the temperature detection value is less than the dew point under the pressure, the adjustment part is controlled so as to suppress compression gas cooling by means of the cooler.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】圧縮後の燃焼用ガスを適切に冷却する共に、過給機の圧縮機のドレンアタックによる破損を抑制できる舶用ディーゼルエンジンを提供すること。【解決手段】本発明の一態様である舶用ディーゼルエンジンは、エンジン本体と、燃焼用ガスを圧縮する第1の過給機と、第1の過給機によって圧縮された燃焼用ガスである圧縮ガスを冷却する冷却器と、冷却器による冷却後の圧縮ガスをさらに圧縮してエンジン本体に送給する第2の過給機と、冷却後の圧縮ガスの温度を検出する温度検出部と、冷却後の圧縮ガスの圧力を検出する圧力検出部と、圧縮ガス冷却のための冷却水を冷却器に供給する供給管と、供給管から冷却器への冷却水の流量を調整する調整部と、制御部とを備える。制御部は、圧力検出値をもとに冷却後の圧縮ガスの圧力下露点温度を導出し、温度検出値が圧力下露点温度未満の場合、冷却器による圧縮ガス冷却を抑制するよう調整部を制御する。【選択図】図1
