To provide a gear change operation device which can make a shift lever stably and smoothly turn, and can facilitate an effective use of a cabin space by reducing an opening part of a cover member.SOLUTION: A gear change operation device comprises: a shift lever 1 in which a grip part N which can be gripped by a driver is formed at a tip, and which can turn with a turning shaft L as a center accompanied by an operation by the driver; and a cover member 2 which is assembled in a state of covering the turning shaft L, and in which an opening part H capable of performing a turning operation while making the shift lever 1 penetrate it is formed. The gear change operation device also can operate a transmission of a vehicle according to a turn of the shift lever 1. The shift lever 1 is extended while being bent at a curvature radius which is substantially the same as that of a circular arc D with the turning shaft L as a center.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】シフトレバーの回動を安定且つ円滑に行わせることができるとともに、カバー部材の開口部を小さくして車室空間の有効利用を図り易くすることができる変速操作装置を提供する。【解決手段】運転者が把持可能な把持部Nが先端に形成されるとともに、運転者による操作に伴って回動軸Lを中心に回動可能なシフトレバー1と、回動軸Lを覆った状態で組み付けられるとともに、シフトレバー1を挿通して回動操作可能とし得る開口部Hが形成されたカバー部材2とを具備し、シフトレバー1の回動に応じて車両の変速機を操作し得る変速操作装置において、シフトレバー1は、回動軸Lを中心とした円弧Dと略同一の曲率で湾曲して延設されたものである。【選択図】図1
