To enhance the degree of design freedom of a buffer mechanism by easily securing required axial direction strength according to the specification of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A sliding type constant velocity universal joint includes an outside joint member 11, and an inside joint member 12 for transmitting rotational torque while allowing axial direction displacement and angle displacement via a ball 13 between itself and the outside joint member 11, and a seal plate 36 is fitted in an opening end part 27 of the outside joint member 11. At the opening end part 27 of the outside joint member 11, a rod material 37 for adjusting the axial direction strength of the seal plate 36 is arranged being adjacent to the axial direction outside of the seal plate 36.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
