To provide a reduction reverse gear that enables slow-speed navigation to be performed without slip-engaging a clutch.SOLUTION: A reduction reverse gear 8 is provided with an output shaft 13 through which power of a main engine 7 mounted on a hull 2 is transmitted to a propeller 5. The gear is further provided with a hydraulic variable transmission 90 of a hydraulic pump 91-hydraulic motor 92 type, and a planetary gear mechanism 80 for combining the rotational power of the main engine 7 and a shift output of the hydraulic variable transmission 90. The combined output of the planetary gear mechanism 80 is transmitted to the output shaft 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
