PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sight line direction estimation device and a sight line direction estimation method which estimate a sight line direction of a driver of a vehicle with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A sight line direction estimation device comprises: a sight line direction estimation unit 22 which estimates a sight line direction of a driver on the basis of a face image of the driver who is driving a vehicle; a front direction determination unit 23 which determines whether the driver is seeing a front direction; a reference direction estimation unit 26 which estimates a reference direction on the basis of the sight line direction estimated during a period in which the driver is determined to be seeing the front direction; and a sight line direction correction unit 24 which corrects the sight line direction estimated by the sight line direction estimation unit on the basis of the reference direction estimated by the reference direction estimation unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
