PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic operation system for suppressing traveling by an automatic operation in a direction that is not desired by a user on an express highway.SOLUTION: When a distance to a parking possible facility X PA (X parking area) that is positioned before a branch point Y JCT (Y junction) where an automobile will pass next and also that is closest to the branch point Y JCT becomes less than a threshold Th (e.g., 2 km) during an automatic operation in traveling on a travel route 401 toward AA on an express highway, a passage direction at the branch point Y JCT is referred to a user (a). When the passage direction of the user is not selected before approaching a point within a predetermined distance (e.g., 500 m) to the parking possible facility X PA, a travel route 403 where an automobile is to be stopped after approaching the parking possible facility X PA closest to the branch point Y JCT is set, so as to perform an automatic operation to perform a stop after approaching the parking possible facility X PA (c).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
