PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal film for electromagnetic wave transmission having sufficient metallic sheen in an appearance; and to provide a formation method of the metal film for electromagnetic wave transmission which is optimum for forming the metal film for electromagnetic wave transmission.SOLUTION: A metal film having metallic sheen, and fine islands thereon as many as 2-10,000 in a unit area (1 mm2), which is an aggregate of fine islands enclosed by fine cracks working as a transmission path, obtained via a dry process such as sputtering, is provided on the surface of a substrate as a metal film for electromagnetic wave transmission.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】外観上、十分な金属光沢を有する電磁波透過用金属被膜を提供するとともに、当該電磁波透過用金属被膜の形成に最適な電磁波透過用金属被膜の形成方法を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】この目的を達成するために、スパッタリング等のドライプロセスを経て得られた、電磁波の透過パスとなる微細クラックに囲まれた微細アイランドの集合体であって、金属光沢を有し、前記微細アイランドが単位面積(1mm2)中に2個〜10000個存在する金属被膜を電磁波透過用金属被膜として基材の表面に設ける。【選択図】図6
