PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave transmission metal coating film having high mass production properties and an extremely low transmission attenuation ratio of millimeter waves or electromagnetic waves having frequency smaller than that of millimeter waves: and to provide a radome for a car-mounted radar device using the metal coating film.SOLUTION: The electromagnetic wave transmission metal coating film comprises a metal coating film which is formed on the surface of a base material through a non-electrolytic plating process and is composed of fine metal regions more than 10,000 pieces per a unit area (1 mm) where the fine metal regions adjacent to one another are electrically separated, and which functions for transmitting millimeter waves or electromagnetic waves having frequency smaller than that of the millimeter waves. A radome for a car-mounted radar device using the metal coating film is provided.

    【課題】本件発明の課題は、量産性が高く、ミリ波、或いはミリ波よりも周波数の小さな電磁波の透過減衰率の極めて低い電磁波透過用金属被膜及び当該金属被膜を用いた車載用レーダ装置用のレドームを提供することにある。【解決手段】上記課題を解決するため、基材の表面に無電解めっき工程を経て設けられた、単位面積(1mm2)当たり10000個を超える微細金属領域から成る金属被膜であって、互いに隣接する微細金属領域が電気的に隔離されており、ミリ波、或いはミリ波よりも周波数の小さな電磁波を透過するための金属被膜であることを特徴とする電磁波透過用金属被膜及び当該金属被膜を用いた車載用レーダ装置用のレドームを提供する。【選択図】図1
