PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify operation in a preparation step before starting power generation.SOLUTION: A starting method of an underwater floating type power generation device includes a step of starting rotation of a turbine 4 of a power generator 17 connected to a mooring rope 11 connected to a fixed point on a water bottom and floating at a reference position in water, a step of changing at least one of a blade pitch angle and a rotation speed of the turbine 4 to increase turbine thrust force to sink the power generator 17, a step of changing at least one of the blade pitch angle and the rotation speed of the turbine to restrain sinking of the power generator 17 after a depth of the power generator 17 reaches a target depth, and a step of changing an operation mode of the power generator 17 to a power generation mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
