PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of predicting the likelihood of road traffic accidents.SOLUTION: An accident prediction system in an embodiment comprises: an accident prediction table preparation/processing unit; a data acquisition/processing unit; and an accident prediction processing unit. The accident prediction table preparation/processing unit learns accident occurrence patterns by utilizing past traffic data including accident data, on the basis of a self-organizing map which is a learning algorithm having: an input layer for inputting traffic data as an input vector for a predetermined section of a road; a competitive layer comprising a plurality of units corresponding to units of the input vector; and a weight vector for combining respective units in the input layer and respective units in the competitive layer all together. Then, the accident prediction table preparation/processing unit creates an accident prediction table including: accident occurrence degrees indicating a likelihood of accident occurrence corresponding to each unit in the competitive layer; and adjustment factors each for adjusting the accident occurrence degree according to each degree of divergence between an input vector at the time of accident prediction and a weight vector of a winner unit in the competitive layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】道路交通事故の発生しやすさの予報の精度をより高めること。【解決手段】実施形態における事故予報システムは、事故予報用テーブル作成処理部と、データ取得処理部と、事故予報処理部と、を備える。事故予報用テーブル作成処理部は、道路の所定の区間について、交通データが入力ベクトルとして入力される入力層と、入力ベクトルの各ユニットに対応した複数のユニットからなる競合層と、入力層の各ユニットと競合層の各ユニットを全結合する重みベクトルと、を有する学習アルゴリズムである自己組織化マップに基づいて、事故データを含む過去交通データを用いて事故発生パターンを学習して、競合層のユニットごとに対応した、事故の発生しやすさを示す事故発生度と、事故予報時の入力ベクトルと競合層の勝者ユニットの重みベクトルとの乖離度に応じて事故発生度を調整するための調整係数と、を含む事故予報用テーブルを作成する。【選択図】図1
