PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical beacon with a high possibility of appropriately receiving a high speed frame transmitted by an on-vehicle after a low speed frame.SOLUTION: An optical beacon 4 performs radio communication with an on-vehicle device of a vehicle that is traveling by using an optical signal.The optical beacon comprises: an optical receiving unit 14 capable of photoelectric conversion at two sorts of high and low transmission rates ; an optical transmitting unit 13 capable of electrical/optical conversion at a predetermined transmission rate; and a communication control unit 7 for performing processing of causing a sophisticated on-vehicle unit to re-execute a transmission sequence of a low speed frame and a high speed frame when a predetermined condition is established, which indicates that the high speed frame transmitted after the low speed frame is not normally received by the sophisticated on-vehicle unit operable in high speed up-link transmission.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車載機が低速フレームの後に送信する高速フレームを、適切に受信する可能性を高めた光ビーコンを提供する。【解決手段】光ビーコン4は、走行中の車両の車載機と光信号による無線通信を行う。高低2種類の伝送速度での光電気変換が可能な光受信部14と、所定の伝送速度での電気光変換が可能な光送信部13と、高速アップリンク送信に対応する高度化車載機が低速フレームの後に送信する高速フレームを正常に受信していないことを表す所定の条件が成立した場合に、前記低速フレーム及び前記高速フレームの送信シーケンスを前記高度化車載機に再実行させるための処理を実行する通信制御部7と、を備える。【選択図】図1
