PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure of a vehicle which achieves better collision safety performance than a conventional vehicle body structure, and to provide a manufacturing method of a vehicle body.SOLUTION: A vehicle body structure of a vehicle includes: a division panel which extends in a width direction in a vehicle body and divides a front chamber or a rear chamber of the vehicle body from a passenger compartment 3; and side panels, each of which is joined to the division plate 13 at a position in a side part of the vehicle body. The division panel includes an inner flange part 31 extending in a vertical direction of the vehicle body at an end part in the width direction. The side panel includes an outer flange part 32 extending in the vertical direction of the vehicle body. The vehicle body structure of the vehicle includes joint parts 37, each of which is formed of the inner flange part and the outer flange part being joined to each other. A structure 384 is provided at the passenger compartment side of the division panels. The structure is arranged along the side panels at the passenger compartment side of the joint parts. A planar member 454 is interposed between the structure and the division panel. The planar member contacts with a surface of the division panel at the passenger compartment side from an inner side of the joint parts toward behind the joint parts in the width direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
