PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a brake device, which is so made as to be redundant for high reliability, with a space saved.SOLUTION: An electric brake device is so located as to be distributed on a vehicle body side and a wheel side of a vehicle. On the wheel side, a motor for giving a brake force to a wheel, a first motor drive unit for driving a first coil set of said motor, and a second motor drive unit for driving a second coil set of said motor are provided, and on the vehicle body side, a controller for controlling the first motor drive unit and the second motor drive unit is provided. Between the vehicle body side and the wheel side, a first communication wire which connects the first motor drive unit and the controller, and a second communication wire which connects the second motor drive unit and the controller are provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
