PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle position detector with which it is possible to quickly obtain exact information about the position of the vehicle.SOLUTION: Provided is a vehicle position detector for determining the position of the vehicle on the basis of the vehicle position detected by satellite positioning and the vehicle position detected by autonomous navigation, comprising: a satellite positioning receiver; an autonomous navigation computation unit for outputting the vehicle position detected by the autonomous navigation as an autonomous navigation position; a determination unit for determining the magnitude of satellite positioning position on the basis of a position deviation between the satellite positioning position detected by satellite positioning and the autonomous navigation position; and a selection unit for determining which of the autonomous navigation position and the satellite positioning position to select on the basis of the positioning accuracy of the satellite positioning outputted by the satellite positioning receiver and the determination result by the determination unit, with the autonomous navigation position or the satellite positioning position outputted as the vehicle position on the basis of the selection result by the selection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
