PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion device attaining downsizing/weight-saving.SOLUTION: An expansion device 1 includes: a foundation part; first stage to third stage cylinders 8, 9, 10 as a plurality of driven parts; a double-face toothed belt 2 and pulleys 3, 4 as driving devices; toothed blocks 5, 6, 7, a support elastic body and a pin as connection parts; and connection bars 16, 18 and a plate 19 as engagement parts and lock parts. The plurality of driven parts are disposed on the foundation part parallel to each other so that the longitudinal directions thereof are each directed to a vertical direction. The driving device moves the driven part in a longitudinal direction. The connection part connects the driven part to the drive device in accordance with a positional relation between the driven part and the driving device. The engagement part engages the upper driven part with the lower driven part in accordance with the positional relation between the upper and lower driven parts mutually adjacent. The lock part locks the upper driven part on the lower driven part in accordance with the positional relation between the driven part and the driving device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
