PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling condition notification device for a saddle-riding type vehicle and a traveling condition detection device for the saddle-riding type vehicle capable of notifying a rider of a U-turn on a slope when it is determined to be attempted.SOLUTION: A traveling condition notification device for a saddle-riding type vehicle comprises: gradient detection means 70 for detecting a road surface gradient θgrd at an own vehicle position of a motor-cycle 1; and an ECU22 for performing a notification to a rider R using notification means 90 when a predetermined condition is satisfied. The traveling condition notification device for the saddle-riding type vehicle further comprises: U-turn determination means 80 for determining whether or not the motor-cycle 1 is attempting a U-turn. The ECU performs the notification when the ECU22 determines that the road surface gradient θgrd exceeds a threshold value and that the motor-cycle 1 is determined to be attempting the U-turn by the U-turn determination means 80. The U-turn determination means 80 comprises: vehicle speed detection means 27 for detecting a vehicle speed of the motor-cycle 1; and a steering angle sensor 38 for detecting a steering angle θstr of the motor-cycle 1; and determines that the U-turn is being attempted when the vehicle speed is less than a threshold value and the steering angle θstr is greater than a threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8

    【課題】坂道でUターンをしようとしていることを検出した際に乗員に報知するようにした鞍乗型車両の走行状況報知装置および鞍乗型車両の走行状況検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】自動二輪車1の自車位置での路面勾配θgrdを検出する勾配検出手段70と、所定条件が満たされると報知手段90によって乗員Rに報知をするECU22とを有する。自動二輪車1がUターンをしようとしているか否かを判定するUターン判定手段80を具備する。ECU22は、路面勾配θgrdが閾値を超えており、かつUターン判定手段80によって自動二輪車1がUターンをしようとしていると判定されると報知を実行する。自動二輪車1の車速を検出する車速検出手段27と、自動二輪車1の操舵角θstrを検知する操舵角センサ38とを備え、Uターン判定手段80は、車速が閾値未満で、かつ操舵角θstrが閾値を超えている場合にUターンをしようとしていると判定する。【選択図】図8
