PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switched reluctance motor and an electric cart capable of suppressing torque reduction and startability deterioration while improving a space factor of windings.SOLUTION: When a basic step angle is denoted as θstep, a salient pole angle of a stator salient pole is denoted as θs, an angle between circumferential distal ends of respective ridge portions 35 is denoted as θr, a separation angle between root portions 35a of the ridge portions 35 is denoted as θr1, and a coefficient is denoted as A, the basic step angle θstep, the salient pole angle θs, the angle θr between the circumferential distal ends, the separation angle θr1, and the coefficient A are so set as to satisfy θr-θr1=A(θstep-θs), {(A-2)θstep+θr1}/A<θs<θstep, 2≤A≤8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
