PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorption structure capable of inhibiting a broken energy absorption member made of fiber-reinforced resin from being clogged in a cover covering the energy absorption member and of suppressing an increase in a crush load and a decline in collision energy absorption amount.SOLUTION: An energy absorption structure includes: a cylindrical energy absorption member that is made of fiber-reinforced resin and is crushed in the axial direction to absorb collision energy when a load is input; a cylindrical cover covering the outer periphery of the energy absorption member; and a holding member for holding an end on the side opposite to the load input side of the energy absorption member. The holding member includes: an opening through which the crushed energy absorption member is made to pass; and a pointed portion for breaking the crushed energy absorption member and guiding at least part of the energy absorption member to the opening.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
