PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake force control device and a brake force control method with which collision can be avoided between an own vehicle and an obstacle, by taking into consideration a possibility that deceleration response of the vehicle is delayed when gross vehicle weight is heavy.SOLUTION: A brake force control device comprises: a target deceleration calculation section for calculating target deceleration necessary to avoid collision between an own vehicle and an obstacle, on the basis of a relative distance and relative speed of the obstacle existing ahead in a travel direction of the own vehicle and the own vehicle; and a brake control section for controlling brake force generated for the own vehicle so that actual deceleration of the own vehicle is the target deceleration. The target deceleration calculation section increases the target deceleration in the case where target deceleration is lower than steady maximum deceleration defined as the maximum deceleration capable of being steadily generated by the own vehicle, regardless of gross weight of the own vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】車両総重量が重い場合に車両の減速の応答が遅くなる可能性を考慮して、自車両と障害物との衝突を回避することが可能な制動力制御装置および制動力制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】制動力制御装置は、自車両の進行方向前方に存在する障害物と自車両との相対距離および相対速度に基づいて、自車両および障害物の衝突回避に必要な目標減速度を算出する目標減速度算出部と、自車両の実減速度が目標減速度になるように、自車両に対して発生させる制動力を制御する制動制御部とを備える。目標減速度算出部は、自車両の総重量に関係なく、自車両に定常的に発生させることが可能な最大の減速度として定義されている定常最大減速度より目標減速度が低い場合、目標減速度を増大させる。【選択図】図2
