PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake force control device and a brake force control method capable of avoiding a collision between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle by considering deceleration of the preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: The brake force control device includes: a target deceleration calculation part for calculating target deceleration necessary to avoid a collision between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle on the basis of a relative distance and a relative speed between the preceding vehicle traveling ahead in an advancing direction of the own vehicle and the own vehicle; and a brake control part for controlling brake force that is generated to the own vehicle such that the actual deceleration of the own vehicle becomes target deceleration. The target deceleration calculation part increases target deceleration in accordance with the deceleration of the preceding vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】前方車両の減速を考慮して、自車両と前方車両との衝突を回避することが可能な制動力制御装置および制動力制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】制動力制御装置は、自車両の進行方向前方を走行する前方車両と自車両との相対距離および相対速度に基づいて、自車両および前方車両の衝突回避に必要な目標減速度を算出する目標減速度算出部と、自車両の実減速度が目標減速度になるように、自車両に対して発生させる制動力を制御する制動制御部とを備える。目標減速度算出部は、前方車両の減速に応じて目標減速度を増大させる。【選択図】図2
