PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian terminal device that enables power saving in the pedestrian terminal device.SOLUTION: A pedestrian terminal device 2 carried by a pedestrian 1 includes an operation mode selection unit 25b that selects from: a representative terminal operation mode for performing vehicle-pedestrian communication with a vehicle-mounted terminal device 4 on behalf of other pedestrian terminal devices 2; and an intra-group terminal operation mode for performing short-range wireless communication, which has a shorter range and lower electric power than the vehicle-pedestrian communication, with a pedestrian terminal device 2 operating in the representative terminal operation mode. The pedestrian terminal device 2 in which the representative terminal operation mode is selected performs the short-range wireless communication, which has the shorter range and lower electric power than the vehicle-pedestrian communication, with the pedestrian terminal devices 2 operating in the intra-group terminal operation mode, thereby capable of saving power of the pedestrian terminal device itself.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
