PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of determining an illegal vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle recognition device 16 comprises an illegal candidate vehicle detection unit 54, an extraction unit 56, and a determination unit 60. The illegal candidate vehicle detection unit 54 detects, as an illegal candidate vehicle, a vehicle for which front and rear number information do not match from number information in the front image of the vehicle and number information acquired from a rear image. The extraction unit 56 extracts the front and rear vehicle shapes of the illegal candidate vehicle from each of the captured front and rear images of the illegal candidate vehicle whose number information indicated on the front and rear number plates of the vehicle are different. The determination unit 60 calculates similarity between the extracted front and rear vehicle shapes of the illegal candidate vehicle and the front and rear vehicle shapes of a normal vehicle whose number information indicated on the front and rear number plates of the vehicle agree. Then, the determination unit 60 determines, on the basis of similarity, that the vehicle of the illegal candidate vehicle is an illegal vehicle when it can be assumed that the front and rear vehicle shapes of the illegal candidate vehicle and the front and rear vehicle shapes of the normal vehicle are almost identical.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】不正車両の判定精度を向上する。【解決手段】車両認識装置16は、不正候補車両検出部54、抽出部56、及び判定部60を備える。不正候補車両検出部54は、車両の前画像のナンバー情報と、後画像の取得したナンバー情報とから前後のナンバー情報が一致しない車両を不正候補車両として検出する。抽出部56は、車両前後のナンバープレートに示されたナンバー情報が異なる不正候補車両の車両前後の撮像画像からそれぞれ不正候補車両の前後の車両形状を抽出する抽出部56を備える。判定部60は、抽出した不正候補車両の前後の車両形状と、車両前後のナンバープレートに示されたナンバー情報が一致する正規車両の前後の車両形状と、の類似度を算出する。そして、判定部60は類似度に基づいて、不正候補車両の前後の車両形状と、正規車両の前後の車両形状と、がともに同一であるとみなせる場合に、不正候補車両の車両を不正車両であると判定する。【選択図】図2
