PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To friction stir join a gusset and a cross member with sufficient coupling strength.SOLUTION: A notch-shaped joint recessed portion 31 is formed on a gusset side attaching plate portion 25 of a gusset 4, and a joint projecting portion 22 is formed on a cross member side attaching plate portion 17 of a cross member 3. In a combination state in which the gusset side attaching plate portion 25 and the cross member side attaching plate portion 17 are superimposed, the joint projecting portion 22 enters the joint recessed portion 31. In the combination state, an outside surface of the joint projecting portion 22 opposes to an inside surface of the joint recessed portion 31 to approach or contact with each other, and a projecting portion top surface 33 is disposed on the generally same surface as an upper surface 27 of the gusset side attaching plate portion 25. The inside surface of the joint recessed portion 31 and the outside surface of the joint projecting portion 22 are linearly joined by friction stir joining along a boundary 35 between the upper surface 27 and the projecting portion top surface 33 in the combination state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】ガセットとクロスメンバとを十分な結合強度で摩擦攪拌接合する。【解決手段】ガセット4のガセット側取付板部25には切欠き状の接合凹部31が形成され、クロスメンバ3のクロスメンバ側取付板部17には接合凸部22が形成され、ガセット側取付板部25とクロスメンバ側取付板部17とを重ねた組合せ状態で、接合凸部22が接合凹部31に侵入する。上記組合せ状態で、接合凸部22の外側面は接合凹部31の内側面と対向して近接又は接触し、凸部頂面33はガセット側取付板部25の上面27と略同一面に配置される。接合凹部31の内側面と接合凸部22の外側面とは、上記組合せ状態での上面27と凸部頂面33との境界35に沿った摩擦攪拌接合によって線状に接合される。【選択図】図1
