PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause a hybrid electric vehicle to leave a motor lock state while preventing a drive motor from reaching a heat limit when it is determined that motor lock occurs while the hybrid electric vehicle is running in an EV mode.SOLUTION: A hybrid electric vehicle includes a drive motor 2 and a starter motor 3 for starting an engine 1 independently and has an "EV mode" and an "HEV mode". A controller of this hybrid electric vehicle comprises: a high-voltage battery 31; motor lock determination means (S1 to S5 in FIG. 2); and lock determination corresponding control means (S6 to S8 in FIG. 2). The high-voltage battery 31 is a power supply common to the drive motor 2 and the starter motor 3. If a drive motor current is equal to or higher than a predetermined value with rotation of the drive motor 2 kept to be stopped while the hybrid vehicle is running in the "EV mode", the motor lock determination means (S1 to S5 in FIG. 2) determines that motor lock occurs. In response to the motor lock determination, the lock determination corresponding control means preferentially supplies power to the starter motor 3 over the drive motor 2 to start the engine 1 so that the hybrid electric vehicle transitions to the "HEV mode".

    【課題】EV発進中にモータロック判定が出されたとき、駆動モータが熱限界に達するのを回避しながら、モータロック状態から抜け出すこと。【解決手段】駆動モータ2とエンジン1の始動モータ3を独立に備え、「EVモード」と「HEVモード」を有する。このハイブリッド車両において、高電圧バッテリ31と、モータロック判定手段(図2のS1〜S5)と、ロック判定対応制御手段(図2のS6〜S8)と、を備える。高電圧バッテリ31は、駆動モータ2と始動モータ3の共通電源である。モータロック判定手段(図2のS1〜S5)は、「EVモード」での発進中、駆動モータ2の回転が停止したままで駆動モータ電流が所定値以上になるとモータロック判定を出す。ロック判定対応制御手段は、モータロック判定が出されると、駆動モータ2と始動モータ3のうち、始動モータ3への電力供給を優先してエンジン1を始動し、「HEVモード」へと移行する。【選択図】図2
