PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking-travel control apparatus capable of suppressing deterioration in fuel economy caused by using a radar sensor, while maintaining an operation load burdened to a driver.SOLUTION: A tracking-travel control apparatus (1) includes: a millimeter-wave radar (2) for detecting an inter-vehicle distance relative to a preceding vehicle; a tracking-travel control part (20) for causing a vehicle itself to tracking-travel after the preceding vehicle; a near-infrared laser radar (4)/camera (6) for detecting a distance of the vehicle itself to a forward obstacle, the near-infrared laser radar/camera operating with smaller power consumption than the millimeter-wave radar; and an ECU (18) for stopping operation of the millimeter-wave radar in the case of the vehicular speed of the vehicle itself is equal to or less than a given speed, and resuming the operation of the millimeter-wave radar on the basis of the inter-vehicle distance relative to the preceding vehicle detected by the near-infrared laser radar/camera during the operation stop of the millimeter-wave radar.

    【課題】運転者の操作負担を増大させず、且つ、レーダセンサの使用による燃費の悪化を抑制することができる、追従走行制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】追従走行制御装置(1)は、先行車両との車間距離を検出するミリ波レーダ(2)と、ミリ波レーダにより検出された車間距離に基づき、自車両を先行車両に追従走行させる追従走行制御部(20)と、追従走行制御部により追従走行が行われているか否かに関わらず、自車両の前方障害物との間の距離を検出する近赤外線レーザレーダ(4)/カメラ(6)であって、ミリ波レーダよりも小さい消費電力により作動する近赤外線レーザレーダ/カメラと、自車両の車速が所定速度以下である場合、ミリ波レーダの作動を停止し、ミリ波レーダの作動停止中において、近赤外線レーザレーダ/カメラにより検出された先行車両との車間距離に基づいて、ミリ波レーダを再度作動させるECU(18)とを有する。【選択図】図2
