PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that enables a dump truck to smoothly travel, securing reliability of radio communication even in a mine where a radio wave state is poor.SOLUTION: In a vehicle travel system, a transport vehicle 20-1 for travelling along a predetermined travel route 60 in premises of a mine and a travel management server for managing travel of the transport vehicle are communicatively connected via a radio communication channel. The transport vehicle 20-1 sets a travel permission section n+1 to the travel management server so that communication timing difference between communication timing to transmit permission request information from a provisional permission request point RP and communication timing for another transport vehicle to transmit permission request information to the same radio base station is equal to or more than a prescribed threshold value.

    【課題】電波状況が悪い鉱山であっても、無線通信の信頼性を確保してダンプが円滑に走行できる技術を提供する。【解決手段】鉱山の構内を予め定められた走行経路60に沿って走行する運搬車両20−1、及び運搬車両の運行を管理する運行管理サーバが、無線通信回線を介して通信接続された車両走行システムであって、運搬車両20−1から運行管理サーバに対し、暫定許可要求点RPから許可要求情報を送信する通信タイミングと、他の運搬車両が同一無線基地局に対して許可要求情報を送信する通信タイミングと、通信タイミングの差が所定の閾値以上となるように走行許可区間n+1を設定する。【選択図】 図6
