PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and reliably switch a travel mode while a vehicle is stopped on a slope.SOLUTION: First, a brake is applied to rear wheels so as to bring them into an unrotatable state (S2), and in that state, a connection mechanism 63 provided to a steering device 10 of front wheels is separated (S3). Then, a first rack bar 53 and a second rack bar 54 of the steering device 10 are moved by the same distance in directions opposite to each other, and the right and left front wheels are steered in opposite directions by a predetermined angle (S3). Further, while releasing a brake to the rear wheels, a brake is applied to the front wheels to bring them into an unrotatable state (S4), and in that state, the connection mechanism 63 provided to a steering device 20 of the rear wheels is separated (S5). Then, a first rack bar 53 and a second rack bar 54 of the steering device 20 are moved by the same distance in directions opposite to each other, and the right and left rear wheels are steered in opposite directions by a predetermined angle (S5).
