PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic operation support system, an automatic operation support method, and a computer program in which frequent switching between automatic operation control and manual operation is prevented, and a user load pertaining to operation is reduced.SOLUTION: The automatic operation support system is configured to: acquire a plurality of candidate routes which are candidates for recommended routes when searching for a recommended route from a place of departure to a destination including an automatic operation section in which automatic operation control of the vehicle is exercised; and specify, for each of the plurality of acquired candidate routes, an interruption section in which automatic operation control is interrupted in the automatic operation section included in the candidate routes. In the meanwhile, when a new section in which automatic operation control needs to be interrupted is detected ahead in the direction of travel while the vehicle is running, the automatic operation support system adds the new section to the interruption section, and connects a first interruption section which is the added new interruption section and a second interruption section which is an interruption section placed along the first interruption section adjoining each other to set one continuous interruption section.

    【課題】自動運転制御と手動運転との切り替えが頻繁に行われることを防止し、ユーザの運転に係る負担を軽減した自動運転支援システム、自動運転支援方法及びコンピュータプログラムを提供する。【解決手段】車両の自動運転制御が行われる自動運転区間を含む出発地から目的地へ至る推奨経路を探索する場合に、推奨経路の候補である候補経路を複数取得し、取得された複数の候補経路毎に、該候補経路に含まれる自動運転区間において自動運転制御を中断する中断区間を特定する。一方で、車両の走行中において進行方向前方に自動運転制御を中断すべき区間を新たに検出した場合には、該区間を前記中断区間に追加設定し、追加設定された中断区間である第1中断区間と、該第1中断区間に沿って隣り合って配置された中断区間である第2中断区間とを接続して、連続する一の中断区間に設定するように構成する。【選択図】図8
