PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance weld strength without increasing a dimension and weight of a weld part between an outer panel and an inner panel which constitute a door opening of a vehicle body.SOLUTION: A door opening 12 of a vehicle body is constituted by seam-welding W1(a), W1(b) and W1(c) an outer panel 13 at the outside of a cabin and inner panels 14, 15 at the inside of the cabin by joint flanges 13a, 14a and 15a. Since a relationship between a nugget width w of the seam weld W1(a), W1(b) and W1(c) and a nugget diameter d of the normal spot weld of a vehicle body is set at 0.29≤w/d≤0.36, shear strength equal to that of the normal spot weld can be obtained by using the seam weld W1(a),W1(b) and W1(c) which is high in strength against the mouth-open deformation of the joint flanges 13a, 14a and 15a, and reducible in weight by narrowing widths of the joint flanges 13a, 14a and 15a.
【課題】 車体のドア開口を構成するアウターパネルとインナーパネルとの溶接部の寸法や重量を増加させることなく、その溶接強度を高める。【解決手段】 車体のドア開口12は、室外側のアウターパネル13と室内側のインナーパネル14,15とを接合フランジ13a,14a,15aにてシーム溶接W1(a),W1(b),W1(c)して構成される。シーム溶接W1(a),W1(b),W1(c)のナゲット幅wと車体の通常のスポット溶接のナゲット径dとの関係を、0.29≰w/d≰0.36に設定したので、接合フランジ13a,14a,15aの口開き変形に対する強度が高く、しかも接合フランジ13a,14a,15aの幅を小さくして軽量化が可能なシーム溶接W1(a),W1(b),W1(c)を用いながら、通常のスポット溶接と同等の剪断強度を得ることができる。【選択図】 図4
