PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing material capable of obtaining a resin thickness distribution suitable for shock absorption according to vacuum molding or pressure molding.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a shock absorbing material (1) which is arranged on an automobile and includes a base part (2) arranged on the car body member side or interior/exterior material side and a plurality of hollow truncated cone shape protruded parts (3) protruded from the base part, a molding mold (11) in which a recessed part (13) for molding the protruded part is recessed on a flat part (12) for molding the base part is stacked and formed by changing stacking pitch such that a difference of a lateral surface of the protruded part is lessened as approaching the tip of the protruded part, thereby, an inside surface of the recessed part is formed stepwise, subsequently, a heated and softened resin sheet is introduced onto the molding mold and is subjected to vacuum molding and pressing molding and, thereby, the lateral surface of the protruded part (3) is formed substantially stepwise and is formed such that thickness (d1 to d3) of resin is thinned as approaching the tip of the protruded part.
【課題】真空成形または圧空成形にて衝撃吸収に適した樹脂厚さ分布を得ることが可能な衝撃吸収材を提供する。【解決手段】自動車に配設される衝撃吸収材であって、車体部材側もしくは内外装材側に配置されるベース部(2)と、前記ベース部から突出した複数の中空錐台状の突起部(3)とを備えた衝撃吸収材(1)の製造方法において、前記ベース部を成形する平坦部(12)に前記突起部を成形する凹型部(13)が凹設された成形型(11)を、前記突起部の先端に行くに従って前記突起部の側面の段差が小さくなるように積層ピッチを変化させて積層造形することにより、前記凹型部の内側面が階段状に形成され、次いで、前記成形型上に加熱軟化させた樹脂シートを導入して真空成形または圧空成形することにより、前記突起部(3)の側面が略階段状に形成され、かつ、前記突起部の先端に行くに従って樹脂の厚さ(d1〜d3)が薄くなるように形成される。【選択図】図3
