A vehicle height adjustment method and a vehicle height adjustment system for a vehicle are provided that enable the vehicle to receive desirable power even from power transmission devices embedded at varying embedment depths. The vehicle height adjustment method is for a vehicle including: a power reception device corresponding to a power transmission device embedded in a road; and a vehicle height adjustment device that adjusts the height of the vehicle above the road. The method includes: a transmitting-side inverter voltage detection step of detecting a transmitting-side inverter voltage of the power transmission device; a coupling coefficient calculation step of calculating a coupling coefficient between the power transmission device and the power reception device, the coupling coefficient corresponding to the transmitting-side inverter voltage; and a vehicle height adjustment step of driving the vehicle height adjustment device to achieve a vehicle height corresponding to the coupling coefficient.
