A control system (130, 160, 190) for a heavy-duty vehicle (100, 800), wherein the control system is arranged to obtain information about an energy transfer and/or power transfer capability of the vehicle (100, 800), obtain information related to a transport mission, obtain information related to one or more power sources and/or one or more power consumers in the vehicle environment, wherein the control system (130, 160, 190) is arranged to determine tactics for when to transfer energy to or from the vehicle (100, 800) in dependence of the energy transfer capability of the vehicle (100, 800), the upcoming transport mission, and the one or more power sources and/or one or more power consumers in the vehicle environment, where the tactics are determined under a constraint to fulfil the upcoming transport mission, and wherein the control system (130, 160, 190) is arranged to trigger transfer of energy to or from the one or more power sources and/or the one or more power consumers in the vehicle environment in accordance with the determined tactics.
