The present invention provides an aluminum alloy for vehicles, where the aluminum alloy can improve toughness and offset yield strength while using secondary ingots. An aluminum alloy for vehicles contains 0.6 to 1.2 wt% Mg, 0.4 to 1.0 wt% Fe, 0.2 to 0.5 wt% Mn, Si, and Cu, with size of an intermetallic compound being 30 µm or less. By increasing Mg compared to before, offset yield strength of the aluminum alloy for vehicles is improved and wall thickness of products is reduced, thereby reducing weight. Also, toughness is improved by setting a weight ratio between Fe and Mn to an appropriate value.
