In order to influence the direction of movement of a movable driven device (e.g. vehicle), one or more pivotable soil-contacting elements (32, 33, 34, 35) (e.g. wheels) are used. The pivoting angle or angles of the pivotable ground-contacting elements (32, 33, 34, 35) are set and/or held by the forces which act eccentrically with respect to the respective pivot axis of the pivotable ground-contacting element (32, 33, 34, 35) and are generated by the relative movements of the axes of the ground-contacting elements driven at coordinated speeds. According to the invention, no steering drive device is required. Thus, no installation space is required for the steering drive device, and the steering drive device does not have to be developed, produced, installed, serviced and/or disposed of at the end of the service life. Movable driven devices can be inter alia: motor vehicles, industrial trucks, construction site vehicles, communal vehicles, model construction vehicles or also aircraft with chassis. Furthermore, the steering system can also be used, inter alia, for driven hospital beds, wheelchairs, robots or also for autonomous movable driven devices and devices.
