A method for managing electrical energy for several pieces of energy-consuming equipment (20) in a railway vehicle (1) from on board energy storage (10), in particular when the railway vehicle (1) is crossing a geographical zone without a power grid, the method comprising the following steps. - obtaining at least one energy parameter representative of an available energy level in the energy storage, - for each piece of consuming equipment, determining a desired operating state, taken from among a plurality of operating states corresponding to different electricity consumption levels, the determination using at least the energy parameter and optionally the localization parameter, and - sending each piece of consuming equipment an operating setpoint depending on the desired operating state.
