A railway vehicle (10) for passenger transport, comprising: - a first end, a second end (26) and a central section; - a first end door (18r) in the first end, a second end door (18f) in the second end (26), central doors in the central section, the doors allowing passengers to enter and exit the railway vehicle (10), wherein all the doors (18) are on the same side of the railway vehicle; - a doors controlling system for locking said doors (18) during travel and for releasing the doors (18) when stopping at a platform; an end doors release inhibiting system for inhibiting the release of one or both of the end doors (18r, 18f), while not interfering with the release of the central doors, when stopping at a platform and it is detected that one or both of the end doors (18r, 18f) is not covered by the platform.
