The invention discloses an excitation delay detection method and device for ultrasonic guided waves and a steel rail detection system.The excitation delay detection method for ultrasonic guided wave transmitting probes comprises the steps that a first excitation electric signal is provided for a first ultrasonic guided wave transmitting probe at the first moment, the first ultrasonic guided wave emission probe emits a first ultrasonic guided wave signal under the action of the first excitation electric signal; controlling a second ultrasonic guided-wave transmitting probe to receive the first ultrasonic guided-wave signal, and acquiring a second moment when the second ultrasonic guided-wave transmitting probe converts the first ultrasonic guided-wave signal into a first electric signal; acquiring the total conversion time length of the electric signal-guided wave signal conversion time of the first ultrasonic guided wave transmitting probe and the guided wave signal-electric signal conversion time of the second ultrasonic guided wave transmitting probe; according to the first moment, the second moment and the total conversion duration, the excitation delay duration of the second ultrasonic guided wave transmitting probe is determined. According to the technical scheme, the determination reliability and accuracy of the excitation delay duration can be improved.
