A lift module capable of achieving vertical flight in a fixed-wing aircraft and producing low aerodynamic drag during horizontal flight, the lift module essentially comprising: a structural compartment (40); and two covers (41A) and (41B) hinged to a structural compartment (40) by means of arms (41A-1) and (41B-1), said structural compartment containing at least one drive assembly (43) and at least one rotor (42), said rotor being locked when the lift module (4) is closed during horizontal flight and unlocked when the lift module is open to generate lift by rotation of the rotor.
