The invention discloses a rope tractor which comprises a mounting seat, a winch and a driving mechanism, the winch and the driving mechanism are both arranged on the mounting seat, a rope is wound on the winch, a lead mechanism and a guide rod are arranged on the mounting seat, the rope movably penetrates through the lead mechanism, an adjusting seat capable of moving and adjusting along the guide rod is arranged on the guide rod, and a first sensor is arranged on the adjusting seat. A second sensor is arranged on the lead mechanism, the first sensor and the second sensor are both in signal connection with the driving mechanism, a holding piece is detachably arranged on the second rope, a trigger piece and a touch part are arranged on the holding piece, and the trigger piece is used for triggering the first sensor when passing through the first sensor so that the driving mechanism can drive the winch to rotate at a specified speed. The touch part is used for touching the second sensor to enable the driving mechanism to stop running or be braked.
