The invention relates to a brake system (200) for at least one vehicle, in particular at least one railway vehicle, comprising an electric brake device (202), a pneumatic brake device, an electrical energy supply device (206), a connection device (204) and a first control device (207), the connection means are arranged to assume a first state adapted to cause electrical energy to flow from the electrical energy supply means (206) to the electric braking means (202), and to assume a second state adapted to prevent electrical energy from flowing from the electrical energy supply means (206) to the electric braking means (202). The first control device is arranged to control the transition of the connection device (204) from the first state to the second state, and vice versa, and the activation of the electric brake device and the pneumatic brake device. A braking method and a vehicle are also described.
